I Love Bettie
All About Bettie Page

Back to the FAQ on Bettie Page.

Caren is the webmistress of Bettie's official website, BettiePage.com which has been a real dream job! Another dreamy moment was when she got to talk to Bunny Yeager on the phone in 2000 - talk about star-struckness! It's as close to Bettie that Caren will probably ever get.

The other interesting ride has been working with Linda Burk on trying to get her Bettie Page movie make it to the big screen. 'Pinup: the Bettie Page Story' is a script that deserves to see the light of day.

boobookittyWho is behind All About Bettie Page?
Caren Adams (boobookitty) is a Canadian girl who just happens to love all things Bettie.
Caren became known as 'boobookitty' since starting her online career as an online computer geekess in 1996. She has since become a web/graphic designer, owning her own company 'Xentric Dezine'.
Hobbies? Oh yah, she's got a few. Art, reading (mainly scifi/fantasy), comic books (hooked on all things Barbara Gordon/Batgirl/Oracle)), photography, nature, anything Bettie Page, retro pinup, yaddayaddayadda.

How was All About Bettie Page born?
In 1996, boobookitty was shown a photo of Bettie Page via a Xena: Warrior Princess online chatroom (see? I am geekier than thou!). That's all it took for her to become obsessed with all things Bettie Page.
From there, Caren created an online homage to Bettie - as well as other raven-haired-with-bangs femme fatales, which she entitled 'Banged Babes'. (I had to insert a definition for 'banged' because everyone expected it to be a porn site!)

After creating Banged Babes website, Caren found she spent most of her time online dealing with Bettie-related info. So, she said goodbye to the Banged Babes Galleries (which also included the Anti-Banged Babes Gallery, where the blondes took centre stage) and dedicated her online time to Bettie Page.
Caren created the Bettie Page Webring in 1998, after finding out the previous Bettie Webring had been neglected & no longer operational. Caren thought the online community of Bettie fans needed a way to be joined - and so the new Bettie Page Webring was born. It's a responsibility Caren takes seriously and devotingly.
Then, in February of 1999, Caren had the luck of beginning communications with Brown Bettie (Camille Aktinson). Their shared love of Bettie birthed the Bettie_Buddies mailing list (Camille's very bettie brainstorm!). The Bettie_Buddies is an ongoing labour of love, and now has over 500 buddies!

Caren has designed quite a few Bettie-related sites, besides this one you're looking at now. She's done the Bettie Buddies' Bettieville site, was the original Official BettiePage.com designer until 2003, did Kink! the musical's site, and the Pin-Up Bettie movie, to name but a few!

Although this is hokey and somewhat cheesy, I'd like to take this opportunity to do a tally of 'Thanks' to the assorted folks who've helped bring Bettieville alive:
Brown Bettie, Dave Holle, Mark Braun, Captain 'Tattoo Man' Howdy, Tim Wellman, Linda Burk, Steve Brewster, Dave Stevens, Jim Silke, Bunny Yeager, Art Amsie, all the camera clubs that took photos of Bettie, Maria, the CMG folks, EJ, Modern Icons, Christine *thwap*, Devilette Andrea, Thomas Fensterseifer, Bonnie J. Burton, Cam Timlick, Kym, Paul, Marilyn, all the members of the Bettie Webring, and all the rest of the Buddies ...
